Are You Leaving Makeup on Too Long?
The last thing you want to do after a late night on the town is to take off your makeup. Leaving it on can not only clog your pores, but it can also cause irritation. It’s a good habit to keep up. If you’re not going out, instead of removing your makeup at night before bed, try removing it at the end of the day when you get home from work instead.
Are Makeup Wipes Enough?
It’s tempting to assume that makeup wipes are all you need. They are not. Oils and makeup can be responsible for pimples and blackheads. No matter how tired you are, always wash your face with a light abrasive cleanser after you remove your makeup. The cleanser will help remove the built-up oils, dirt and bacteria that makeup wipes alone will not. Using only one wipe might work well enough in some spots but it can leave remnants of your makeup in areas you clean last.
Use a different wipe on your face than the one you use on your eyes. Wiping your eyes with the same wipe you use on your face with allow bacteria to get into your eyes. Wiping your face with the same wipe with which you removed your eye makeup can grind the eye makeup and mascara into your delicate skin. This can lead to clogged pores.
Makeup wipes are good when that is all you have but remember they are no substitute for a good face washing.
